Overview
Medical Technologist (Laboratory Technologist) position in Portland, Oregon, starts 08/10/2026 for 7 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,691 to $1,762 per week, with guaranteed 40 hours per week on a 3x12-hour day-shift schedule at a short-term acute care hospital travel assignment.

Responsibilities
- Perform chemical, microscopic, and microbiological test assays; operate manual and automated analyzers; store and label specimens; prepare specimens and use appropriate equipment to run tests.
- Prepare sterile media, solutions, reagents, and stains following established formulas and procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of tests performed; report results to appropriate personnel; recognize quality control shifts and trends and take action when needed.
- Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on test equipment; clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and instruments; manage laboratory supplies.
- Ensure compliance with department policies and state licensure regulations; supervise phlebotomists as assigned and offer guidance as needed.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent.
- Experience: Two years Medical Technologist hospital experience preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications: Current certification from ASCP or NCA; ASCP MT-AMT certification acceptable as required in OR facilities.
- Additional credentials: Current BLS certification; EPIC experience within the last 12 months.
- Eligibility: Ability to work in a hospital laboratory setting and perform duties within scope of practice.
