SME Systems Integrator / Virtualization SME with 10+ yrs exp on Platform-9 and Spectro Cloud

Phase 1: Miami + remote

Phase 2: Cleveland + remote

Phase 3: Various locations across the U.S. + remote

We are looking for a Systems Integration SME with strong hands-on experience in virtual IT environments and virtualization platforms. The client is currently evaluating alternatives to VMware and needs someone who can provide technical expertise in setting up, evaluating, and implementing the new environment.

Key Technical Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware / VMware virtualization environments
• Experience migrating or transitioning away from VMware
• Expertise in virtual IT infrastructure and virtualization technologies
• Experience with Platform9 and/or Spectro Cloud is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of:

• Virtualization architecture
• Hypervisors
• Kubernetes/container platforms
• Infrastructure integration
• Networking and storage
• High availability and disaster recovery
• Enterprise data-center environments
• Ability to evaluate different virtualization platforms and provide technical recommendations
• Experience designing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting virtual environments
• Systems integration experience across infrastructure, applications, networking, and storage
• Ability to work directly with the client as a technical SME and trusted advisor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assess the client's existing VMware environment and requirements.
• Support evaluation of Platform9 and Spectro Cloud as potential VMware alternatives.
• Design and configure proof-of-concept / test environments.
• Evaluate platform capabilities, performance, scalability, security, and integration requirements.
• Identify technical gaps, risks, and migration considerations.
• Provide recommendations to the client based on technical evaluation.
• Support implementation and integration activities.
• Work with client IT/infrastructure teams and other technical stakeholders.
• Help establish and grow the systems integrator relationship with the client.
• Provide technical leadership throughout multiple project phases.
• Document architecture, configurations, findings, and recommendations.

Before submitting a candidate, confirm:

• Strong virtualization / virtual IT environment experience

• Platform9 or Spectro Cloud experience preferred
• Strong systems integration/infrastructure background
• Ability to work as a technical SME with the client
• Willingness to travel to Miami, Cleveland, and other U.S. locations
• Strong communication and client-facing skills

Sourcing Focus

The strongest candidates will likely come from systems integrators, infrastructure consulting firms, cloud/data-center environments, or enterprise virtualization teams where they have worked on VMware architecture, virtualization modernization, Kubernetes, or VMware replacement initiatives.

Important: Platform9/Spectro Cloud experience is a major differentiator. A strong VMware/virtualization architect with experience evaluating alternative platforms could still be a good candidate.
