Job Brief:

The firm currently seeks a Paralegal/Litigation Assistant to join its dynamic, close-knit legal team at a small yet influential personal injury law firm, where you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in every aspect of the litigation and client service process. Responsibilities:

• Handle scheduling and file management tasks efficiently.
• Order and track medical records.
• Demonstrate the ability to gather information and present it concisely and coherently; experience in organizing and presenting information, particularly in requesting and chronologizing medical records and documents.
• Follow cases from initiation to conclusion, learning each step initially and subsequently managing the process independently.
• Draft pleadings, request medical records, and engage in professional correspondence with clients and other counsel.
• Strong email, communication, and professional writing skills are essential.
• The ability to adapt and learn from provided examples, demonstrating intelligence and initiative in executing tasks.

Background and Qualifications Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1-3 years of experience in a legal environment, ideally with exposure to workers' compensation and/or personal injury law.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in technology and adaptable to different software/tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates a learner/growth-oriented mindset.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Willingness to work in a small practice environment.

Compensation and Job Structure

This is a full-time, onsite position located in Northbrook, Illinois. Compensation includes a salary of $60k–$70k commensurate with experience, plus benefits, including participation in a firmwide profit-sharing program.
