Bookkeeper

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned, reliable professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and association operations to join our small, collaborative team in Tallahassee. The right candidate will bring years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online , solid association or nonprofit management experience, and the judgment that comes from a mature, proven work history. This position is in-office, located in Tallahassee.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online , including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, monthly closes, and financial reporting
• Support day-to-day association operations: membership records, dues tracking, invoicing, and basic member correspondence
• Assist with compliance-related documentation and record-keeping typical of a membership association
• Handle routine payroll support, expense tracking, and coordination with external accountants or auditors as needed
• Provide calm, professional front-line support and help maintain an organized, efficient office environment

What We’re Looking For

• Several years of proven experience using QuickBooks Online in a professional setting (bookkeeping, reconciliation, and reporting)
• Prior experience in association management, nonprofit administration, membership organizations, or similar professional environments
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional, steady demeanor
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a small, collegial team
• High integrity and discretion when handling financial and confidential information
